The forest habitat
We humans find recreation in the forest. For plants and wild animals, however, the forest is a habitat. It is therefore important to approach every forest with respect and to follow a few simple rules.
But what creeps and flies in a forest? Are there dangers in the forest? Can you find berries and fruit in the forest? Forest animals can usually be seen in the morning or at dusk, and some are only active at night. But if you wander through the forest carefully, you may also come across deer, stags or foxes or hear owls, woodpeckers and other bird species. Ants and beetles in the undergrowth seem to move silently. Wild strawberries, raspberries and blueberries are always an explosion of flavor. A hike accompanied by a hiking guide or nature guide is a special experience, as they are the forest experts.

What rules need to be observed?
The forest is a place of recreation for us humans, but also an important habitat for plants and wild animals. To protect nature and enjoy it respectfully, a few simple rules should be observed:
- Avoid noise: Enjoy the peace and quiet of the forest and don't disturb the wildlife.
- Don't leave any garbage behind: Take your litter with you and keep the forest clean.
- Only pick mushrooms with a permit: Find out about local regulations.
- Don't pick protected plants and flowers: Many species are protected.
- Keep dogs on a lead: Protect wildlife from disturbance.

The forest is full of life and surprises.
- Wildlife spotting: Early in the morning or at dusk, you can spot deer, stags, foxes and various bird species such as owls and woodpeckers. Ants and beetles are also active in the undergrowth.
- Berries and fruit: Wild strawberries, raspberries and blueberries provide delicious refreshment.
- Guided hikes: Experience the forest with hiking or nature guides who share their knowledge and show you special places.

Good preparation is the be-all and end-all for a successful trip into the forest
- Good footwear: Wear comfortable and sturdy shoes.
- Hiking equipment: A jacket and rain protection are always useful.
- Backpack: Pack everything you need, including walking poles if necessary.
- Drinks and snacks: A reusable water bottle or thermos flask with tea and something to eat for longer hikes.
Enjoy your time in the forest and respect nature!
