Heinz Mack
Licht Raum Farbe
Museum
2003
Existing artwork from the Zumtobel Collection
The German artist Heinz Mack is best known for his monumental outdoor sculptures and his contributions to the light and kinetic art of the 20th century. Together with Otto Piene, he founded Gruppo Zero. However, Mack has experimented with a variety of media ranging from light reliefs, paintings, drawings and photographs to sculptures made from materials such as stone, light rotors and light steles.
A glass cuboid with a dichroic coating makes the glass appear in different colours depending on the incidence of light and viewing perspective.
