Daniel Nuderscher is a photographer and artist, working with a variety of forms of expression including painting, photography, sculpture and installations.
Corrie Francis Parks works with the artistic media of photography, film and animation. She combines analogue frame-by-frame animation with digital animation techniques and develops them as films or transmedia installations.
In 2023, Daniel Nuderscher and Corrie Francis Parks are developing the SKRFF_ology project. It is a media archaeological project on graffiti in public space, those characters and images that have been an integral part of many cityscapes and an expression of urban culture since the 1980s at the latest. Initially, the artists undertook an investigative excavation of a graffiti wall in Vienna. They treated it like an archaeological site and documented every step of the uncovered layers.
The process of removing many layers of colour and discovering individual motifs and meanings truly resembles a journey into the past decades and becomes a documentation of the urban and environmental history of the past forty years. The documented material from the excavation forms the basis for the animation, which will be shown as a projection as part of the Water Light Festival 2024. The sound was developed by Sandro Nicolussi.
